A Stationery Lovers Dream: #PaperHaul Subscription Box

My all-time weaknesses are makeup, chocolate, books and stationery. So, obviously when Claire at Crafty Creatives got in touch, I practically bit her hand off, or at least I would have if that could be done via email.

Proprioception and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

When I was diagnosed with EDS type 3, (hypermobility, HEDS, whatever you want to call it) ten years ago I was naive enough to think that Ehlers-Danlos would be the strangest words I'd hear regarding my condition. Alas, my nineteen year old self soon learned a lot more; proprioception being one.

Stila Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Eye and Cheek Palette Review

I can't pass up a Stila product, and I certainly can't pass up a gorgeous palette - so it was obvious that I was going to add this to my collection. I didn't order it as soon as it was released because I was on the dreaded no-buy (not that it usually stops me, but I was trying to behave), but luckily for me, a few weekends ago Stila did a 20% off sale, and there was no way that I wasn't taking advantage of that!

When I Grow Up: Dreams as a Kid

When I was little I went through a lot of, 'when I grow up I want to be...' moments. Almost each year I had a different future career; I guess even as a kid I was hella indecisive. I'm obviously going to share the jobs I wanted when I was younger, but nothing will ever beat my younger brother, at the age of 4, announcing that he'd be a princess when he was big. To be fair, he'd make a lovely prin; although a crown would look better on me. And Sarah means Princess, so...!

#ShitAbledPeopleSay - My Response

Every other day a hashtag appears on Twitter and causes controversy. I first saw this 'shit abled people say' hashtag last Saturday and after scrolling through the comments disabled people shared, I decided to add a few of my own. My somewhat naive self didn't realise that by disclosing a few of the hurtful, uneducated or ignorant remarks said to me, I'd receive further, hurtful, uneducated and ignorant tweets.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Gleam Glow Kit Review

Anastasia is renowned as the queen of brows; she then added contour palettes to her collection, eye shadows, and liquid lipsticks, and then hallelujah, highlighters. I reviewed an ABH individual highlighter in Starlight when they were released late last year and you can read that here, if you fancy an even more glowing (see what I did there) read.

The Supernatural: What Would You Be?

This is a bit of a different post for me, but I thought I'd share it since it's something that fascinates me and I've been obsessed with since I was a kid. I don't believe in the supernatural (and it's totally cool if you do) but I do like reading about it and watching supernatural TV/films. I even took a module during my second year at uni on supernatural literature; I bloody loved it, and it exposed me to lots of novels that I probably wouldn't have known about.

Toddlerlife #4

I'm back at it again with the things my 3 year old nephew says. He's such a little bundle of joy, although if he knew I'd called him 'little' he'd correct me because he's 'big' now - apologies, Kainey.

An Everything Wish List

I haven't compiled a wish list in so long and decided it had to be done, as there's so many things I want. I also chose to feature a lot of random things since I'm a very random kinda girl, so hope you like it.

Dose of Colors Haul

Shockingly, I bought more liquid lipsticks. I couldn't help it, they were calling to me, I had to have them. If you're new to my blog, I'm addicted to liquid lipstick, and no, my love affair won't be ending any time soon. I've harped on that Kat Von D and Stila hold that special holy grail status in my heart, but then Dose of Colors showed up, and kicked them from their pedestal. As soon as I tried them, I knew I had to have more.

Words of Wisdom

Source: Pinterest

This is going to be a wordy post, but not contain a lot of words that I have written.
I wanted to share some quotes I love, quotes I find inspirational and just random wordy-goodness.
There's many more on Pinterest, so do go check my boards out, and give me a follow if you fancy!

Wax Melts from Simple Candle Co

I've said it before and I'll say it again; I love candles. Everyone that comes into our house comments on the amount I have scattered around the room; they're on most surfaces. I don't care, they smell good and I like them, so why not?

What Disability?: The Adaptability of Children

I spent last weekend with my three year old nephew, Kaine, and it got me thinking about how he sees me. I'm his Auntie Sarah, I use crutches, I use an electric wheelchair, I wear splints and take tablets, but most of all, I make a huge fuss out of him, I buy him toys when he's already got too many, and tickle him until he can't giggle any more. I know he loves me as much as I love him, and I'm grateful for all that he brings to my life.

milk_shake For Your Hair: Review

I'm pretty loyal when it comes to hair care; I'll change up my mousse or hairspray on occasion but when I find a shampoo and conditioner that I like, I tend to repurchase that as I know it does the trick. Lately though, I've been branching out, and in May I reviewed Lee Stafford's CoCo LoCo line, you can read that here if you fancy some coconut-scented goodness in your life. However, if you're a fan of vanilla milkshake, don't go anywhere - you need to read all about this.

The lovely guys over at milk_shake reached out and asked if I'd like to try some of their products. I admit, I hadn't heard much about them but was really intrigued, and obviously said yes. As soon as they arrived, I did what I do with all shampoos, and I opened the cap to get a whiff of the scent. Oh my days guys, Oh. My. Days. It smells absolutely incredible. If the sweet milky aroma was anything to go by, I had such high hopes for these products. Think sweet vanilla milkshake. Yes, please, get on my hair.

I was kindly sent an array of travel size products, (I've already used the shampoo and conditioner, and repurchased them, so obviously my review is going to be a positive one) including the Color Care shampoo and conditioner, Whipped Cream leave-in foam, Incredible Milk leave-in spray mask and Natural Care active yogurt mask.

The Disabled Body During the Victorian Era

Three years ago I handed in my Masters dissertation on the 'Victorian freak show and the commodification of the disabled body'. I absolutely loved spending a year researching and writing my 20,000 word thesis, and I'm pretty sure I'll always be fascinated, or perhaps obsessed, with all things 19th century.
