The Plus Size Leopard Print Edit

Since my new love of fashion has materialised, so has my obsession with animal print; more specifically, leopard print. I can't get enough of it. It's definitely on-trend at the moment and I find it really easy to style.

For me, leopard print is synonymous with metal music, alternative fashion and the grunge lifestyle, which I am very much embracing. The teenage me would be loving my style lately. I also find leopard print really sexy and chic, and it can be worn in so many ways for so many different occasions.

Designers are incorporating animal prints in all colours, not just the traditional, and although I have a few items like that (recently I purchased a blue zebra print dress), I do love the conventional print.

Speaking of the standard print I thought I’d show off a leopard print dress, maxi skirt and trousers which I am absolutely loving and can’t stop wearing.

I wrote a whole post about how badass this outfit made me feel, you can read that here. I love these tapered trousers, they're slightly thicker than leggings and are so comfortable. They're also only £15 at Simply Be. They were made to go with my Docs. I'd literally wear these trousers all the time if I could.

The maxi skirt is from Topsy Curvy and I've worn it so many times with jumpers and band tees, each time looking awesome. It's really stretchy, with an elasticated waist and easy to wear.

Both the skirt and trousers go with so many tops that you'll already have in your collection which means you can inject some animal print into your life without having to buy loads of other things to go with them.

I picked up this swing dress for £16 at Simply Be and instantly fell in love with it. It's an easy-to-wear jersey material with a round neck and long sleeves. I bloody love that it has long sleeves! The length falls just below the knee on me, but bear in mind, I'm sat down and a bit of a short arse. It's a really effortless dress that I paired with my faux leather jacket, leggings, red ankle cuffs and some cute Chelsea boots with a chunky heel* from Jake Shoes.

A pair of Chelsea boots are a staple and perfect for so many occasions. The boots have an elasticated side with a zip on the other and are incredibly comfortable. I usually steer clear of heels but these aren't too high and the chunky heel means there's no awkward stumbling (not that I walk a lot). Even sat in my wheelchair, I found the boots comfy...and who said you can't have cute shoes just because you're a wheelchair user?

I'm loving living the leopard print life and I think I'll continue buying animal print until the day I die...too dramatic? If you're worried that you can't pull it off, I definitely recommend giving it a go as I was in the same boat. I didn't think it'd suit me but bought the skirt on a whim and now I can't get enough. There's loads of options out there so get your print on!

Do you wear animal print?
