October Favourites

Let's get right into my October favourites...

Mac Pro Longwear Blush - Stubborn | £20.50 | Mac |

I was looking for a plum coloured blush for A/W and Stubborn ticked all the boxes. It's a matte mid-tone rosy plum that doesn't fade and lasts for hours. This is my first Pro Longwear blusher and I'll certainly be buying more as the formula is amazing. The powder is really finely milled and doesn't kick up when you place your brush in it. I highly recommend you quickly dab your brush into the product, do not swirl it around or even double-tap, as you'll end up applying way too much colour; I love the fact you hardly need any product as this blusher will last for ages.

Nars Blusher - Amour | £23 | Nars |

I'm clearly a blush addict, I can't help it, I love rosy cheeks, especially during the colder months. Amour is a matte peachy pink, silky powder that leaves a natural looking flush to the cheeks. I have a few Nars blushers and Amour is up there with my faves. Similar to Stubborn, you hardly need to apply any product to your brush, but if you overdo it, it's extremely easy to blend out.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick - Aria | £16 | Stila |

I'm a huge Stila liquid lipstick fan, they're one of my favourite formulas. Aria is a matte magenta plum, it's the perfect vampy berry shade and looks stunning on the lips. It is incredibly pigmented and has full opacity in one swipe. I suggest wearing a lip liner for guidance as applying liquid lipsticks can always be tricky but darker colours are less forgiving. I also recommend your lips are moisturised as liquid lippies can settle in dry, cracked lines. Bonus points for longevity, Aria doesn't budge or bleed, it literally stays put and I need to use a cleansing oil to remove it. Obsessed with this colour.
Stila have their holiday sets available with mini liquid lipsticks so if you're considering trying them, you should totally pick one up and test a variety of colours.

BedHead Oh Bee Hive! Matte Dry Shampoo | £9.79 | Beauty Bay |

My hairdresser used this on me two months ago to add volume to my waves after it'd been dyed and washed and I initially didn't take much notice of what the product did but how it smelt. OMG, it smells so good and the scent lasts for days, every time I'd move my head, I'd catch it and happy-sigh. Other than the gorgeous scent, this is a bloody amazing dry shampoo. Yes, it's on the pricier side but it doesn't leave a white cast, adds a lot of volume, soaks up any oils and leaves the hair feeling and looking clean. I like to add it to freshly washed hair to add some texture, it's a miracle worker. I'd rather buy this than a cheaper dry shampoo and a volumising spray. I've had my can of Oh Bee Hive! for about six weeks and it still feels like there's quite a lot of product left. If you're looking for a new dry shampoo, give this a go...(also, check Amazon prices).

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream | £7.47 | Beauty Bay |

My combination skin is having a dry spell and this Ultra Repair Cream has been a lifesaver. I bought the 56g bottle to trial and I'm probably going to be purchasing the larger tub very soon. It's a thick, emollient cream that deeply hydrates the skin but doesn't leave a sticky residue. The plus point for this is it can be used all over the body so would be great to use after showering or at night. It absorbs fairly quickly and has really helped with my dry patches. The smell took a while to get used to as it has a weird, hospital sort of scent which I wasn't fussed about, but it certainly didn't put me off.

What are your October favourites?

  1. In desperate need to try the Stila liquid lipsticks! They've been on my wishlist for some time - that colour is gorgeous too!
