January Favourites

January 2016 I turned 29, I hit the target for my power chair, and my boyfriend and I got the keys to our adorable bungalow (The Bung). Other than reaching the final year of my 20s, this month has been pretty amazing, but enough about that, let's get onto the beauty stuff.

Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder - Candlelight | £35 | Space NK |

This highlighter is everything; it's so stunning and creates a subtle glow that I'm obsessed with. If you get one Kevyn Aucoin product, I highly recommend this. I wrote a full review on Candlelight in January, check it out here.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation - Light Porcelain | £7.99 | Boots |

As you well know, I don't feature a lot of high street brands on my blog, I'm a high-end snob, I can't help it, but I'm so in love with this Rimmel foundation; I prefer it so much more than quite a few of the luxury branded foundations I own. It gives medium coverage that is extremely lightweight and natural, even my boyfriend commented on how nice my skin looked (smoke and mirrors, darling). It doesn't settle into any lines or give cake-face, and the lasting power is bloody marvellous. I set my T-zone with a powder, and all my other products apply easily over the base. For £8, it doesn't get much better really.

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb EDP 50ml | £69 | Debenhams |

This was a Christmas/birthday present from my gorgeous 3 year old nephew, and I haven't spritzed another scent since I got my mitts on it. Flowerbomb is an explosion of florals; it's sweet and girly and I'm so glad it's in my life. Read a full review here.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick - Double Dare | $20 | Sephora |

I've worn Double Dare at least six times this month; that may not seem a lot but when you have a ridiculous amount of lipstick, it's a big deal. It's described on Sephora as a 'Cocoa Blush', it's brown with pink undertones and I find it really flattering. Here's a shitty quality selfie of me looking miserable but rocking Double Dare. Check out my full review.

Clinique High Impact Mascara - Black | £17.50 | Clinique |

I got this sample of the Clinique mascara a few months back and it's sadly almost gone; if I didn't have 20 other mascaras to try out, I'd definitely repurchase. I like everything about it, it adds length, volume and holds a curl. The brush is excellent at separating lashes whilst coating them in enough product. I haven't seen a lot of people talking about this and they should, it's such a good mascara.

What are your January favourites?

  1. Double Dare looks like such a beautiful shade! I really want to try some of the Kat Von D makeup range. x

  2. I've heard so much about the Rimmel foundation but I'm so apprehensive with drugstore foundations as my skin is so dry and most of them cling onto dry patches. Do you reckon this would work for dry skin at all as I would love to find a cheaper alternative to what I'm having to pay for for my Nars Sheer Glow! xx

    1. I love Nars Sheer Glow! I think it'd be fine as it's really hydrating, apply it with a damp sponge so you're adding more moisture x

  3. That highlighter looks amazing! Lovely post xx

  4. I love Kat Von D lipsticks! Double Dare really suits you :) xx

  5. I'm currently using the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation as well but the older version. I wonder what difference in the two are, though I'm quite pleased with it regardless. Love that lipstick shade, it looks fabulous on you.

    1. I'm pretty sure it's just new packaging. Why thank you x

  6. Lovely post. That Kat Von D lipstick looks nice on you. I might have to go purchase one myself. I have my own January Faves on my blog if you would like to check it out x

  7. After seeing this I think I need Double Dare in my life!
