5 Reasons to Try an Oil Diffuser?

I have always associated aromatherapy and essential oils with my Nan. I remember her burning oils and adding them to baths all the time; so when I was asked to try out an Organic Aromas Essential Oil Diffuser, I felt a sense of nostalgia and obviously agreed.

You know I'm a huge fan of lists, so I came up with five reasons why should you try an aromatherapy diffuser:
  1. Relaxing
We all know that essential oils and aromatherapy is great for relaxation; the oils are all natural and have different uses, for example, lavender is said to aid sleep. They have calming properties and therefore great to help unwind. The diffuser has small LED mood lighting which creates a mild and gentle atmosphere. They're perfect for any setting and I currently use mine in my living room.

  2. Scent
I add 15-20 drops of oil into my diffuser and as soon as it's turned on, the room quickly begins to smell amazing. Both my boyfriend and I were shocked at how fast and effective the scent of the oil spread across the room. It definitely reminds me of being at a spa, I love it. Not only that, the scent is much more powerful than a scented candle and it doesn't take ages to fill the room.

  3. Easy
It's so easy to use and clean. You simply add the drops of oil and turn on. The diffuser operates for two hours before automatically switching off. There's also a detailed manual on how to clean the device, and it's recommended to do a general clean once a week if it's been used for two hours a day. This is pretty simple too, you just add rubbing alcohol to the diffuser and switch the power on for 5-10 minutes. Effortless.

  4. No heat/water
All you need is the diffuser, essential oil and a plug socket; there's no heat or water needed to operate. The great thing about not adding any heat/water is all the properties of the essential oils are preserved.

  5. Safety
It's so much safer than a candle or oil burner, and a lot less messy. The blown glass doesn't get hot since no heat is applied and you don't have to worry if you leave it plugged in as it switches off after two hours; I know I'm always concerned about falling asleep whilst a candle is alight so this is worry-free.

This oil diffuser works by nebulizing essential oils and diffusing them into the air; it does this by pressurising the oil into a mist of fine micro-droplets which is distributed around the room.

I used the Organic Aromas Signature Blend essential oil in the Raindrop diffuser; it contains five oils that create an incredibly relaxing and spa-like scent. I have used it every evening for the last week and I love it. My house smells so good.

The diffusers are on the more expensive side, with the Raindrop retailing at $95, which is roughly £65; however, I spend that on candles over a couple of months, so can't grumble.

I have a feeling I'll be buying more essential oils very soon to test how they compare to Organic Aromas Signature Blend.

Have you ever tried an oil diffuser?
