Colchester Zoo

* Disclaimer - photo heavy *

Last week I had to go to Colchester for a few days filming with Enhance the UK. It turned out I got my films finished a day early and was super excited as we could go to the zoo on our free day.

I'm a big kid and woke up Wednesday morning all giddy because I was going to see the animals! Ian wasn't as hyper, or hyper in the slightest. The weather was incredible, sunny, warm but not too hot - I didn't bake alive or want to leave, so that's always a good sign.

Colchester Zoo have concessional prices for disabled people and a plus one (carer), which is awesome. They also have a yellow line to follow throughout the zoo which is wheelchair-friendly - this was extremely helpful as there was a lot of steep gradients that would have given my powerchair a run for it's money.

I had such a good day and I got to feed a giraffe and an elephant. As I'm slightly obsessed with giraffes this was bloody amazing. I loved our day at Colchester Zoo; if we're ever in the area, I'd definitely go back. Since we went during term-time it wasn't really busy but there was still plenty of other people there.

Such a good day, so much to see and do.

  2. Stunning photos, Love the lions! Amazing post, loved that x

  3. I love going to the zoo! I'm jealous, I've always wanted to go to Colchester Zoo :) It looks like you had such an awesome day and you got some fantastic photos!

    My favourite is the one of the elephant and the one of the male lion looking all majestic and proud :) Yay! That's so cool that you got to feed the giraffe and elephant. I've fed a giraffe before at South Lakes zoo in the Lake District and it was amazing! x
