May Favourites

Rifle Paper Co calendar May - Barry M concealer - L'Oreal Primer - Design Me Hair products

Disclaimer: This post contains PR samples

I've been trying out a bunch of new hair products this month and some I'm absolutely loving and others can go in the undecided pile, so no doubt next month there'll be a few more hair goodies but let's get over May first.

Barry M All Night Long Full Coverage Concealer - Milk | £4.49 | Superdrug |

When Gemma from Gemma Etc told me about this uber pale concealer, I knew I had to have it. All I ever do is moan about foundations and concealers being too yellow or too dark, so when Gem shared this, from one ghost to another, it had to be mine. I've been on the lookout for a decent high street concealer for ages and at under a fiver, this one from Barry M is everything. It's lightweight, doesn't cake up or sink into any fine lines around the eyes, and the coverage is pretty good; it doesn't cover my dark circles but nothing ever does, #TeamNoSleep. I haven't used any other concealer since owning this. If you're fair, you need it.

Rubis Classic Slant Tweezers* | £21.50 | Cult Beauty |

I never understood why some tweezers were so much more expensive than others, surely they all do the same job? My mind was blown when these arrived and I began using them, they put my shitty little ones to shame; these are so sharp, so precise and I didn't know I needed them until I had them plucking the smallest, most annoying hair out of my brows. I sometimes sit for ages try to yank an unruly spike out of my face and can never quite do it but since having these the job is done in seconds. They're amazing. I'm proper buzzin' off tweezers; what an exciting life I lead.

L'Oreal Infallible Pore Refining Primer | £8.99 | Superdrug |

I've been trying out quite a few new primers recently and this is the only one that is under a tenner and pretty bloody good. I'm a fan of anything that fills in the pores and gives me a smooth canvas to apply makeup to, and this does that as well as adding a subtle glow to the face too. I don't have particularly large pores but I do have some scarring and I find this helps even it out quite a bit. Products go on top of it smoothly and it doesn't make the skin slippy like some primers can. I use a very small amount and pat it into the areas that need it, and because I'm extra I use a moisturising primer on the rest of my face.

Design.ME Power Dry ME* | £14.95 | Sally Beauty |

I'd never heard of this brand until it arrived on my doorstep and I've been using these two since. They're cruelty free, vegan, sulphate, paraben and gluten free! Power Dry ME is a blowdrying mist that claims to reduce hair drying time by 50%, has frizz control, smooths and conditions hair, whilst offering UV and heat protection. Since using it I have noticed a drastic change in how fast my hair dries and I'm all about it. It also smells really good.

Design.ME Fab ME* | £9.95 | Sally Beauty |

This moisturising treatment mist is SO good. It's a lightweight leave-in treatment that detangles, hydrates, smooths and protects. My hair smells and looks amazing after spritzing this through my locks and I notice my hair doesn't get greasy as quickly and my style lasts longer. I use both of the Design.ME products after showering and really like how the bottles spray a light, even mist. Definitely give them a go.

What were you loving in May?

  1. I rarely take the time to blow dry my hair as it takes so long, so I love the sound of Dry Me.
